Biome Project
Welcome to Global Ecological Travel Company!
You have been hired as a researcher and promoter for Global Ecological Travel. Our company creates vacations specially designed for people to see all the great ecosystems of the globe. Your job will be to research the various types of ecosystems on earth which are called Biomes. You will then create a presentation to teach people about your biome and also an advertisement to get them wanting to visit. Some of the biomes may not seem exciting at first but if you can be creative you can make even the tundra sound like a dream vacation! Please see all of the details in the job description below.
There are four Essential Questions that all of our customers seem to ask before planning their vacations. Your research will be able to answer these questions
1. Where on Earth is your biome located?
2. What is the climate like there?
3. What are some of the animals and plants that are found there? How have they adapted to the climate and landscape?
4. Why would people want to visit?
presentation format
The research you conduct must be presented to potential tourists (your classmates) so that they can also learn about your biome. You will be taking the role of a teacher and therefore need to turn your research into a presentation. Your presentation will have information and a creative slogan or sales pitch using a feature of your biome that would be used to try to sell your biome. You have two options.
Option 1 & 2
Create a PowerPoint or a Prezi (prezi.com) to easily show others your research. You will include all aspects of the research and include pictures. There will not be a requirement for how many slides there are it will just simply have to be long enough to include all the research thoroughly. All parts of the project need to be included.
Option 3
Create a poster presentation. You can bring in your own poster-board if you like and use whatever supplies we have available in class. All parts of the research will need to be included on the poster. Include pictures to help give a visual representation of your biome.
